General Buzz Grunt : Interrupted

“We have a problem, General.”

General Buzz had barely stepped off his army-assigned helicopter when he’d been met by one of his officers. Sighing inwardly, he turned around and faced the slender brunette who’d interrupted him.

Sorry for the lack of updates…

I did some playing around with SimPE (tried to rename the households i.e. Capp 2, Capp 3, Monty 2 and so forth) and must’ve done something monumentally stupid and now my game crashes once I get to the neighborhood screen.

Darn it – that SimPE tutorial is hard to go through – but I’m working on it. Sorry – at any rate – if I have to delete some characters in the end, I don’t think it will affect my neighborhood much since I haven’t really played Veronaville for some time. It’s just that since it’s the ubermegahood (where all the hoods are connected), the wonky files in Veronaville are affecting the whole neighborhood.

Writing Challenge #4

I’d never done “stream of consciousness” writing before. Can’t say I like it. I’m pretty sure I did this all wrong. Honestly, I’ve read it back and I have to say that I hate what I wrote. Oh well. I can’t very well not post this just because I hated it though … so here goes 🙂

Challenge 4

“Stream of consciousness is characterized by a flow of thoughts and images, which may not always appear to have a coherent structure or cohesion. The plot line may weave in and out of time and place, carrying the reader through the life span of a character.”

Using stream of conciousness, write for 15 minutes on one of three words:

Loss OR coral OR cookie jar.

The piece should be about a character reflecting on something that has happened, is happening or will happen. Do not name your narrator – keep it ambiguous!

Guidelines.

– Your piece should be in the first person.
– You have 15 minutes to write this. Either time yourself with an alarm or phone, or use the useful link by FurryPanda on page 1.
– You must have a minumum of 500 words, although you shouldn’t go over 2000.
– Copy and paste straight onto this thread. Do not edit or rewrite your piece. Spelling, grammar and punctuation can be revised but without a dictionary and such.

General Buzz threw a left jab, snapped his fist back and followed this with a right cross.

Top Ten Posts That Made Me a Loyalist (Sims 2 Blogs)

top-ten-gold

I’ve been following several Sims 2 blogs and I’m really struck by how talented several of these bloggers are. And I’m not just talking about exquisite picture-taking / photoshopping skills, but also mad-props writing talent. Many have shared creative ideas that I’ve borrowed to make my simming a better experience. And many I believe can go and publish their stories as graphic novels (if EA/Maxis would ever allow it) – they are that good.

Anyway, these are the top ten posts that really made me into a loyal follower of someone’s Sims 2 neighborhood. Now, I’m not claiming these are the best of the best (as there is no way I have read everyone’s blogs or posts AND I am sure I’ve missed a thousand good blogs out there), but these are the ones that first caught my attention (hooked & reeled me in) and have been following since.

How about you – do you have any favorites yourself? Please feel free to share any blogs/ posts that rocked your Sims 2 world too! I’d love to hear about them 🙂
